DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE THE GREATEST BUG SNAPPER?

Intro

Do you want to spice up a hiking adventure with your best friend? Or do you want to sow the seeds of chaos in your family's weekly walk around the nearby lake? Created by the author of the surprisingly downloaded game Touching Grass, this outdoor one-page roleplaying game involves a small group of players (2 or more) scurrying around to become the best bug photographer. 

Using a simple, easy-to-understand voting system, this short game is an easy way to make hiking with others slightly more fun. 

What you need

- The page of the game (either viewed from your phone or printed)

- A camera (or smart phone) for each player

- Paper and pen, or a note jotting app, to keep track of the judging scores

- Calculator (or do the calculations in your head)

- Preferably, working eyes and a keen sense for the aesthetics 

Adaptations

Want to replay or edit the game for your own purposes? Here are some ideas:

- Insectophobia Version

Is your buddy afraid of bugs? Take photos of wild animals or flowers/vegetation instead.

- Videography Version

Want to challenge yourselves? Instead of photos, take short (<10 sec) videos instead.

- Hobbyist Researcher 

Before heading out, search online for rare critters in your area. While/ After taking the photo of the critter, use the iNaturalist app or reverse google search to identify the creature's species. 

- Gotta collect 'em all!

Take the pictures of as many types of critters as possible! The person who finds the most different critters will get 10 bonus points.
